Title: Focus on: Star Formation History

Abstract: From massive quiescent galaxies at cosmic noon to low-mass extremely rapidly star-forming galaxies at the highest redshifts, the James Webb Space Telescope has enabled precision measurements of galaxy star-formation histories from a variety of tracers that would have been unthinkable just a few short years ago. I will review recent developments in this field, touching on several key areas of study, for example evidence for bursty star formation and “mini-quenching” in low mass galaxies during the first billion years, and extremely old early massive galaxies that appear to threaten current models of galaxy formation physics, or even Lambda-CDM.
